The Handstand

This course gives all yogis the opportunity to learn, practice and refine the handstand in a class environment.

Handstand requires a skill set and dedication that requires deep focus and attention over time. You will leave with the resources to integrate this pose into your flow and bring home to your personal practice.

The only way you learn handstand is by practicing handstand. Each week we will look at different techniques and drills to strengthen the body, allowing you to find the handstand with confidence and remove the 'hit and hope' mentality. The course can be attended as a course or individual classes, as each will have different themes.

The Yoga & Ayurveda Series - Spring

Spring : Practices to open your heart and embrace new life this spring

This Yoga & Ayurveda series workshop with Kate Smith Jamison is dedicated to being open to embracing the renewed vitality of spring. Enjoy two invigorating and strengthening yoga practices interspersed with Ayurvedic wisdom on diet and daily routine, specifically looking at this ancient science’s recommendations aimed at not only balancing spring’s dominant elements, but that also help shift both physical, mental and emotional congestion. Practices that focus on keeping the heart space clear and open, and that gently detoxify and energise our bodies and minds with the aim of harnessing nature’s reawakening and maintaining the momentum of new year’s intentions. Finish your morning of learning and practice with a nourishing lunch based on Ayurvedic principles for the season.

In Flow’s Yoga & Ayurveda series of seasonal workshops with Kate Smith Jamison (www.theyogaandayurvedaclinic.com) delve into the ancient practice of Ayurveda, the holistic healing science for the body – sister to Yoga’s healing science for the mind. Meaning science (veda) of life (ayur) Ayurveda takes a personalised, preventative approach to optimal health and longevity in harmony with nature’s pulse.

During each four-hour workshop, discover how to add seasonal rhythm to your yogasana, pranayama and meditation practices, and gain a better understanding of your own unique constitution. Learn how to follow the flow of nature, and weave diet and lifestyle principles throughout the year to live a healthier – and consequently happier - life. Understand better how to use nature’s opposing elemental forces to stay balanced and to smooth your transition from season to season.

A £40 investment for each workshop includes a seasonal lunch based on Ayurvedic principles

Ayurveda Meets Asana

Accelerating the Path to Longevity

How to achieve true wellness is the question of our current era.

Yoga and Ayurveda have the answers.

Proper alignment in our poses (Hatha Yoga) is critical for a safe and effective practice.

Proper alignment with Nature’s Rhythms (Ayurveda) is critical for our overall well-being and ability to grow old gracefully.  When the two are in synch, you become an unstoppable force of nature.

In these two sessions, Ayurveda philosophy will be skillfully woven into a sequence of

flow, breath, mantra and meditation.

Welcome to your best self.

In Ayurveda, the evening is Kapha time when the heavier elements of Water and Earth are most prevalent.

Expect a quieter practice of deep hip openers, forward folds, and twists. We seal in our contemplative practice with pranayama, mantra, and meditation.

Investment: £25
